Jobs on the line at Threshers in a Bid to Find New Buyers (October 30, 2009)

First Quenching Retailing, the company that own Threshers, this morning announced layoffs, redundancies and shop closures in a bid to cut costs whilst they looked for a new buyer.

The administrators, KPMG, said that all stores would remain open whilst they analysed which were and were not viable, but store closures were inevitable.

A spokesman for the administrators has said “Trading in the off licence sector has become increasingly competitive in recent years, with the recession proving too much of an additional burden in this case.”
